Job summary

St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI, seeks a part-time Prep Cook to support our dining services. Duties include assisting chefs with meal prep, production, and sanitation, with hours generally Monday–Friday 8:00 am–2:00 pm. The role aligns with the academic calendar and summers off.

The prep cook will participate in trainings, maintain sanitary standards, and help ensure consistent food quality for meals, catering, and cash operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with quantity food preparation preferred.
• 1-2 years of food production experience in an institutional setting preferred.
• Knowledge of state sanitation and food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Attend daily staff huddles and required training (e.g., AllerTrain, ServSafe, Emergency Action Plans).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary food production environment.
• Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work areas.
• Prepare menu items according to standardized recipes for meals, catering events, and cash operations.
• Assist chefs and supervisors with preparation and production of ingredients for meal plans and events.
• Follow safe work practices and adhere to food safety regulations.
• Ensure food quality and presentation through proper batch production and freshness monitoring.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
