Job summary

C caring Hands ISS in Aubrey, TX is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our day program for adults with IDD. This full-time role offers a consistent Monday-Friday daytime schedule and the chance to build meaningful relationships with the individuals we support.

The LVN will provide nursing support, monitor health, administer medications, and coordinate medical needs with guardians and healthcare professionals while maintaining proper documentation and following physician orders.

Qualifications

• Current Texas LVN license in good standing.
• Experience working with adults with IDD is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable.
• Comfortable working with individuals who may have complex medical or communication needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing support to individuals attending the day program.
• Monitor individuals' health and recognize changes in condition.
• Administer and monitor medications as required.
• Provide first aid and respond to illnesses, injuries, and medical concerns.
• Communicate with guardians, families, physicians, pharmacies, residential staff, and other healthcare professionals as needed.
• Maintain accurate nursing and medication documentation.
• Follow physician orders, individual health needs, and nursing care instructions.
• Assist staff with understanding individual medical needs and health-related procedures.
• Provide health and medication-related training to staff when needed.
• Coordinate and follow up on medical concerns and appointments when needed.
• Help maintain a safe and healthy environment for the individuals we support.
