Job summary

TEEMA is hiring experienced Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) / Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for a six-month contract at a Texas state-supported residential facility. The role provides direct nursing care and clinical support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health needs.

Schedule is 40 hours per week, from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, with every third weekend off. Additional shifts or overtime may be required to meet facility needs.

Qualifications

  • Active Texas LVN/LPN license or qualifying Nurse Licensure Compact license.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Computer and electronic health record experience preferred.
  • Experience working with IDD, developmental disabilities, psychiatric conditions, or behavioral health populations is highly preferred.
  • Dependable and able to maintain the required rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications, injections, and prescribed treatments
  • Perform approved nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations
  • Monitor individuals for changes in health, condition, or behavior
  • Document nursing care accurately and on time
  • Communicate changes and concerns to appropriate members of the clinical team
  • Respond appropriately to medical and behavioral emergencies
  • Follow infection-control, health, and safety procedures
  • Collect specimens and perform approved screening tests after competency validation
  • Educate individuals regarding their healthcare needs and goals
  • Assist with turning and repositioning when providing treatments
  • Monitor individuals receiving treatments and procedures
  • Maintain appropriate medical and clinical supplies
  • Collaborate with nursing and direct-care staff to provide safe, consistent care

Location: Texas

This position provides direct nursing care and clinical support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health needs.

Schedule

4:00 PM – 12:00 AM

Every third weekend off

Additional shifts or overtime may be required based on facility needs

Important: Additional time off will not be available during the holiday season, including Christmas and New Year's.
