Job summary

Women Helping Women in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a dedicated full-time Crisis Intervention Advocate to support survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. The role focuses on crisis intervention, advocacy, information, and referrals within our mission-driven agency.

The successful candidate will have experience with diverse populations, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with MS Office, databases, and email.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering services to diverse populations; gender-based violence field preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Computer literacy required (MS Office, databases, email).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct crisis intervention services to survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
  • Provide telephone and one-on-one crisis intervention; dispatch for hospital and DV calls; connect to court advocates.
  • Assist clients with safety planning and provide information and referrals as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit data on time for funding and partner agencies.
  • Collaborate with agency staff and community partners to coordinate services and outreach.

FUNCTION:

Provides crisis intervention and support, advocacy, information, and referral to survivorsofsexualassault,domesticviolence,datingviolence,andstalking.This includes telephone, written,andcrisis intervention. Works consistently within the mission, vision, and values of the Agency.

KEY JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports toDaytime HotlineSupervisor, serves survivors,collaboratesandcoordinateswithcommunityagencies,organizationstoprovideappropriate resource/referralsources.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstratedexperience inand passion for delivering effective services to diverse populations/audience and experience in gender-based violence field. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and with others as a team member and a strong representative of the agency’s brand.Computer literacy (MS Office, databases, email, etc.)required.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Programming

Providesdirectcrisisinterventionservicestosurvivorsofsexualassault,domesticviolence,dating violence, and stalking.

  • Providestelephoneandone-on-onecrisisinterventionservices. Provides dispatching services forhospitaland DVERT calls. Connects survivor to court advocates if accompaniment is needed, and support group facilitation.
  • Assistsclientwithsafetyplanning, considering lethality risks,andprovidesinformationandreferralswitheachclientasappropriate.
  • Ensures that all survivors of abuse are served regardless of their status, aspursuanttoagency policy.
  • Facilitates accompaniment to proceedings/appointments/meetings as needed to provide information, advocacy, support, and safety.
  • Facilitate educationaland/orsupportgroupsforclients,asassigned.

  • Maintainshighlyaccuraterecords/reportingsystems/statisticsandsubmitsontime(e.g., documentation for WHW, for funders, for partner agencies).
  • Participatesintheongoingprocessofevaluationandrevisingpolicies,procedures,andformsasappropriate.
  • Maintains fileinformationthatisusableandaccessibletocolleagues.

  • Establishesandmaintainseffectiveandprofessionalworkingrelationshipswithcoworks, volunteers, interns, donors, and board members.
  • ParticipateinanyadditionaltraininganddevelopmentopportunitiesprovidedbytheAgency.
  • Providestraining,support,andevaluationofvolunteerandinternsassignedtothisposition, including verification of observation logs, as requested by supervisor.
  • participateactivelyinAgencymeetingsandfunctions.

  • Developsandmaintainseffective,professional,andcollaborativerelationshipswithothersinthecommunity.
  • CollaborateswithotherAgencystafftoensuretheprovisionofcrisisintervention,supportand advocacy is coordinated with other community systems.
  • ExercisesdiscretionwhenrepresentingtheAgencyandmaintainconfidentialityininteractions within community asappropriate.
  • ConsistentlyadvancestheAgencyandpromotespositivepublicrelations.
  • Affirms the value of diversity and inclusion, and is respectful to all survivors (e.g., gender identity, class, race, ethnicity, ability, religion/spirituality, cultural identity, immigrant or refugee status, and sexual orientation).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

To facilitate Agency effectiveness, may be expected to take on other dutiesassigned.Availabilityoftransportation.

TIMECOMMITMENT:

Full-time/ Monday Thru Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

LOCATON:

In Office, 615 Elsinore Place

PAYBASIS:

Hourly, $18.50+
