Job summary

Lakes International Language Academy (LILA) is seeking a daytime custodian to maintain a safe, clean facility for students and staff in Forest Lake, MN. Responsibilities include routine cleaning, basic maintenance, and snow removal across multiple school buildings.

The role requires flexibility in hours, basic computer skills, and the ability to travel between worksites. Bilingual candidates (Spanish or Mandarin) are preferred and encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning and maintenance for school interiors and exteriors.

• Repair furniture and restock supplies in bathrooms and other areas.
• Shovel snow and salt sidewalks.

Daytime Custodian
- Schedule: Monday - Friday 35 - 40 hours per week, with some flexibility on exact hours
- Hourly Wage: $17.00 – $20.00
- Direct Supervisor: Director of Buildings and Grounds

Job Summary: Provide a safe, clean facility for students, staff, and visitors at LILA. Performs work cleaning and maintaining school building interiors and exteriors, and related work as apparent or assigned. Responsibilities include routine and project cleaning, basic maintenance, snow removal, security and other duties.

Essential Functions:
Wash down bathrooms using appropriate cleaning materials and detergents
Mixture and disposal of cleaning materials in a safe and secure manner
Vacuum and shampoo carpets; scrub, wax, and strip floors of all facilities
Operate power tools as needed
Repair furniture including chairs, desks and tables
Restock supplies in bathrooms and other areas as needed
Properly dispose of all trash from all areas of the school
Clean and disinfect cafeteria sinks and clean drinking fountains
Handle minor repair and maintenance activities such as bulb replacement and floor buffing
Shovel snow and salt sidewalks

Qualifications

Qualifications:
- Experience Preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
- Basic Computer Skills
- Ability to travel between worksites

Preferred Qualifications:
- Spanish or Mandarin language proficiency
