Job summary

Lakes International Language Academy (LILA) is seeking a Daytime Custodian to provide a safe, clean facility for students, staff, and visitors. The role involves cleaning both interiors and exteriors, basic maintenance, snow removal, and security duties at LILA’s Forest Lake, MN campus.

The position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (35–40 hours/week) with flexible hours, an hourly wage of $17.00–$20.00, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, life, and a PERA retirement plan.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred, but willingness to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Wash down bathrooms using appropriate cleaning materials and detergents.
• Mix and dispose of cleaning materials safely.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets; scrub, wax, and strip floors of all facilities.
• Operate power tools as needed.
• Repair furniture including chairs, desks and tables.
• Restock supplies in bathrooms and other areas as needed.
• Dispose of all trash from all areas of the school.
• Clean and disinfect cafeteria sinks and drinking fountains.
• Handle minor repair and maintenance tasks such as bulb replacement and floor buffing.
• Shovel snow and salt sidewalks.

Job Summary:

Provide a safe, clean facility for students, staff, and visitors at LILA. Performs work cleaning and maintaining school building interiors and exteriors, and related work as apparent or assigned. Responsibilities include routine and project cleaning, basic maintenance, snow removal, security and other duties.

Essential Functions:

• Mixture and disposal of cleaning materials in a safe and secure manner
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets; scrub, wax, and strip floors of all facilities
• Operate power tools as needed
• Repair furniture including chairs, desks and tables

• Properly dispose of all trash from all areas of the school
• Clean and disinfect cafeteria sinks and clean drinking fountains
• Handle minor repair and maintenance activities such as bulb replacement and floor buffing
• Shovel snow and salt sidewalks

• Ability to travel between worksites

Preferred Qualifications:

• Spanish or Mandarin language proficiency
