Job summary

Legend Senior Living is seeking an outstanding Chef to lead the culinary team, oversee operations, plan menus, and supervise dining room staff. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and resident satisfaction, with a work schedule that avoids late-night hours and supports a balanced life.

The Chef will ensure nutritional meals, proper provisioning, and adherence to Legend’s Gold Leaf Dining standards, while collaborating with residents and staff to maintain a warm, engaging dining experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years cooking in a commercial kitchen.
• Experience supervising kitchen staff preferred.
• Formal culinary training or associates degree preferred (or 5 years culinary experience).
• Current food handling license as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Plan a variety of nutritious meals meeting dietary requirements and special requests.
• Manage department budget and inventory; control expenses.
• Directly supervise all dietary staff including hiring, training, and scheduling.
• Ensure cooking, serving, storage, and service areas meet safety standards and are clean and organized.
• Ensure quality service per Gold Leaf Dining standards and interact daily with residents.
• Fulfill roles as needed, such as Manager-On-Duty on rotation and step in for staff.
