Job summary

Pittsburgh Water is seeking a Security Officer for the Daylight shift to monitor, patrol, and enforce security protocols at multiple facilities. Under the Security Coordinator, you will respond to incidents, conduct rounds, manage visitor access, and maintain a secure environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, ACT 235 certification within one year, and the ability to work all shifts and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Two years security experience preferred; background in law enforcement or armed forces a plus.
• Must obtain ACT 235 certification within one year of hire (Pittsburgh Water will cover costs).

Responsibilities

• Enforce regulations to prevent security breaches and decide first response tactics.
• Perform routine checks of offices, laboratories, corridors, parking lots and storage sites.
• Protect personnel and property from injury or loss due to fire, trespass, theft, or sabotage.
• Open/close/secure doors, verify vaults, cabinets and security doors.
• Oversee visitor management and issue/deny visitor badges as needed.
• Provide security presence and assist in emergency management and evacuations.
• Maintain compliance with legal requirements and company procedures.
