Job summary

Pittsburgh Water is seeking a Security Officer for the 3rd shift to safeguard all facilities in the district. You will monitor, patrol, respond to incidents, and enforce security protocols under the direction of the Security Coordinator.

The role requires strong judgment, knowledge of security systems, and the ability to work the overnight hours. Must have high school diploma and be eligible for ACT 235 certification within one year; residency in PA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years in security preferred.
• Obtain ACT 235 certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Enforce security regulations and determine first response tactics.
• Perform routine checks of offices, labs, corridors, and parking areas.
• Protect personnel and property from injury, loss or damage.
• Open/close doors, check vaults and security doors when applicable.
• Manage visitor identification and badges; escort banned visitors.
• Provide security around buildings and assist in emergencies or evacuations.
• Record crime reports and respond to alarms and service calls.
• Assist with traffic control and conduct rover patrols as needed.
• Comply with legal requirements and company procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
