Job summary

Inspire Early Education in Dover, PA is seeking a dedicated cook to support daily meal prep and kitchen operations for a daycare program. You will manage cooking, baking, and food preparation while ensuring safety, allergy considerations, and adherence to health regulations.

The role involves weekly ordering, inventory control, and occasional contribution to meals for field trips and events, with opportunities for growth within a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments.
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 45 pounds.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Cook, bake, and prepare meals and snacks for children.
• Maintain safe food storage, disposal, and temperature logs.
• Prepare meals for children with special dietary needs; manage allergy list.
• Weekly ordering and receipt of food supplies; replenish dishware and cookware.
• Follow portioning guidelines and keep food inventory; adhere to health regulations.
• Maintain kitchen cleaning schedule including dishwashing; support field trips and events.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for cooking, baking, and food preparation
• Ensure safe food storage and disposal, including maintaining temperature logs.
• Cook is responsible for preparing meals and snacks for children with special dietary needs
• Maintain children's allergy list regularly.
• Weekly ordering and receiving all food supplies and replenishing dishware and cookware
• Follow food portioning guidelines and maintain appropriate food inventory
• Complies with all health regulations and the company's best practices
• Upkeep kitchen cleaning schedule, including dishwashing, daily, weekly, and monthly duties
• Occasionally required to prepare food for field trips, school-age programs, and community events.
• Duties and responsibilities may change from time to time on the needs of the daycare centers.

Who You Are

Required

• Valid driver's license and a clean driver's abstract.
• Current Food Handler Certification or willing to get
• Clear background checks and up-to-date health assessments.

• Ability to take initiative and problem-solve effectively.
