Foundations Early Learning Center in Sherrills Ford, NC is seeking a Daycare Cook to nourish children and staff with healthy meals in a fast-growing preschool setting. You’ll follow daily menus, ensure safe food handling, and maintain kitchen inventory while supporting classroom needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience cooking for large groups is preferred.
• ServSafe certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be at least 18 years old and able to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to pass background checks and health assessments.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and distributes meals and snacks for children and staff per guidelines.
• Follows daily menus that meet USDA/licensing/health department rules.
• Ensures safe food preparation and sanitation; keeps kitchen/pantry tidy.
• Maintains inventory of food and supplies.
• Willing to work in the classroom to cover breaks.
• Experience in large-scale cooking, preferably childcare.
• ServSafe certification preferred.
• At least 18 years old for cook position.
• Ability to pass background checks and health assessments.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Hourly Pay Range: $16-$19 per hour

Pay is determined by the level of education and years of experience.Pay increases with continued education,performanceand years of service.

Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepares and distributes meals/snacks for children and staff according to guidelines and provided menus.
• Followsdailymenu that incorporates USDA,licensingand/or health department regulations.
• Ensuressafe food preparations and proper sanitation methods are used andmaintainsa safe kitchen/pantry area.
• Maintains inventory of food and supplies.
• Must be willing to work in the classroom to cover breaks.
• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for large group food service, preferably in a childcare center, preferred.
• ServSafecertification preferred.
• At least 18-years-oldforcookposition.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year minimum of previousexperience working in licensedchildcarea plus.
• Ability to pass background checks & health assessments.
• Ability tolift upto 30 lbs.
