Job summary

Vass-Lakeview Elementary School in Vass, NC is seeking a Daycare Assistant. The role reports to the Day Care Director and Principal. It supports curriculum delivery and safety compliance for a 10-month term.

Responsibilities include communicating with parents, supervising groups of children, and maintaining a clean, compliant environment. Must have CPR/AED/First Aid credentials and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must meet state requirements in CPR, AED, Playground, First Aid and Childhood Connects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing the curriculum.
• Help maintain facilities to meet safety and legal standards.
• Know local, state and federal safety laws and inspection procedures.
• Maintain credentialing requirements for the role.
• Speak with parents daily and answer questions.
• Maintain 2-way communication between daycare staff, director and parents.
• Enforce policies set by the director.
• Work within 30 hrs/wk (part-time) or 40 hrs/wk (full-time).
• Prepare instructional materials and equipment.
• Supervise and lead groups of children.
• Follow training for group activities.
• Keep a clean, orderly environment for students.
• Complete daily/weekly cleaning duties.
• Maintain center materials/equipment.
• Enforce classroom rules positively.
• Follow attendance guidelines and dress code.
• Demonstrate initiative in duties.
• Respond to inquiries promptly.
• Support school system’s vision/mission.
• Perform other duties as assigned by daycare director/principal.
