Job summary

Odessa Regional is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Day Surgery Manager in Odessa, TX to lead the Ambulatory Surgery Unit, oversee staff, and coordinate perioperative patient care.

Responsibilities include ensuring safe patient flow, readiness for discharge, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia teams, and commitment to patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current Texas RN license or multistate license.
• BLS required; ACLS/PALS per facility policy.
• Experience in perioperative or ambulatory surgery preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides clinical and operational leadership for the Ambulatory Surgery Unit, including preop and Phase II postoperative care.
• Oversees staffing, scheduling, patient flow, and unit operations for safe, efficient care.
• Supervises staff; participates in hiring, orientation, coaching, and performance management.
• Coordinates with surgeons, anesthesia, OR, PACU, PAT, and other departments.
• Ensures patient preparation, education, discharge planning.
• Maintains regulatory compliance and quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitors safety, staffing, productivity, and patient experience.
• Maintains staff competencies and licensure.
• Supports departmental policies and workflows.
• Manages resources including supplies and equipment.
• Identifies and escalates safety or operational concerns.
• Promotes teamwork and professional work environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned in Surgical Services.
