Job summary

F McConnell and Sons is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join its day shift team. You will receive shipments, count and sort items, store merchandise, move materials, load/unload trucks and operate a forklift as needed. You must follow OSHA rules, maintain accuracy and work well with coworkers.

Responsibilities include submitting stocking documentation, keeping the facility clean and adapting to shift changes while maintaining a positive, energetic attitude.

Qualifications

• Warehouse, material handling and inventory experience preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Professional communication with coworkers and vendors.
• Attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Basic computer skills and data entry.
• Good time management and the ability to work under time constraints.

Job description

Department: Warehouse

Shift: Days, Five Days a week.

Duties:

1. Receive shipped product and completes appropriate paperwork as needed.


2. Count and sort merchandise by area, product number and description.


3. Store merchandise on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, color or type of product.


4. Move and transport materials or supplies.


5. Help load and unload trucks.


6. Drives forklift as necessary.


7. Fill out and submit appropriate documents regarding stocking and receiving of product.


8. Cleans with appropriate tools, such as rags, brooms and mops, etc… and picks up trash and other items to keep the warehouse facility clean.


9. Complies with OHSA and company safety rules and regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Previous warehouse, material handling and Inventory Experience preferred.


2. Pick and place products to a pallet that is sitting on the ground or stocking shelves, racks and other storage equipment.


3. Ability to interact in a professional manner with co-workers, supervisors and our vendors.


4. Licensed forklift driver including stand-up and sit-down powered forklifts, must be able to obtain within 90 days of hire date, as required.


5. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.


6. Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with numbers.


7. Basic computer skills, including the ability to input and retrieve information.


8. Good time management skills and the ability to work under time constraints.


9. Flexible with changing end-of-shift times as business needs require.


10. Team-oriented with a positive, energetic attitude.

Typical Work Conditions:

1. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, freezer/cooler temperatures; at times warehouse can become warmer than outside temperature.
