Job summary

Follett Content Solutions in McHenry, IL is hiring a Custodian. The role is onsite, Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with pay ranging from $18.00 to $22.00 per hour.

The position is non-exempt and may develop into a longer-term role for the right candidate. The successful candidate will maintain cleanliness of the facility, operate custodial equipment, and follow safety protocols per OSHA and SDS guidelines.

Qualifications

• Forklift experience required.
• Ability to operate custodial equipment such as vacuum floor scrubbers/pressure washers.
• Ability to read and use cleaning chemicals safely and according to Safety Data sheets (SDS).
• Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain Cleaning Logs and complete assigned checklist.
• Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards or supply shortages.
• Perform other duties assigned to support facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Forklift Driving
• Picking and loading recyclable and compacted cardboard into a trailer.
• Ensure facility and equipment are in operating, safe condition.
• Clean main lobby and entry areas; vacuum entrance mats.
• Sweep and mop break areas; sanitize lunch tables; assemble/disassemble outdoor umbrellas.
• Stock copy paper; clean grounds; pick up trash and debris.
• Empty and re-line trash bins in warehouse, offices, and cafeteria.
• Clean warehouse rear stairwell and hallway; exterior trash receptacles.
• Clean shipping cross over bridge and eye wash stations as needed.
• Sweep exterior Receiving & shipping docks and ARUs.
• Wipe down computer kiosks in the warehouse.
• Clean/sweep office mechanical rooms; elevator closets; computer room ramp.
• Clean shipping/receiving maintenance doors as needed.
• Deep clean lunchroom coolers monthly; shelves and interior/exterior cleaning.
• Sweep/mop forklift charging stations.
• Clean and dust lobby furniture; disinfect restrooms daily.
