At BluePearl Pet Hospital, the role of Veterinary Technician is an exciting, fast-paced opportunity that allows you to utilize and expand your skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

1. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
2. Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
3. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
4. Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
5. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to significant changes.
6. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
7. Calculate medical doses accurately, including infusions, and administer medications via appropriate routes.
8. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels.
9. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
10. Mentor and train co-workers with patience and empathy.
11. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
