Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Day Shift Utility Porter to support cleaning, maintenance, and facility services during normal business hours. You will help maintain clean common areas, assist with site operations, and respond to facility requests throughout the shift.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate cleaning equipment, and follow safety standards. A background check and U.S. work authorization are required. Base pay is $17.50 per hour, with daily on-site duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum six (6) months of janitorial, custodial, porter, or facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Experience using cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, and other custodial tools.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, safety practices, and proper equipment usage.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and customer service mindset.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collect and empty trash cans and recycling containers.
• Dust and clean surfaces, including walls, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors.
• Maintain lobbies, entrances, hallways, break rooms, and other common areas.
• Clean and polish fixtures, furniture, glass, and other surfaces.
• Set up and move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Transport materials, supplies, and equipment throughout the facility.
• Assist with routine maintenance support tasks and report facility issues.
• Respond promptly to facility service requests during the shift.
• Follow established cleaning procedures and safety standards.
• Safely use cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.
• Notify management of repairs, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or supply shortages.
• Support special events, meetings, and operational activities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Summary

The Day Shift Utility Porter is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning, maintenance support, and facility service tasks to ensure the facility remains clean, safe, functional, and welcoming during normal business hours. The Utility Porter responds to operational needs throughout the shift and assists with maintaining common areas, supporting site operations, and completing assigned facility service tasks.
