Job summary

Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital in Marina del Rey, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist II or III to join our team. You will work closely with the surgical staff to prepare the operating room, ensure sterile technique, assist with instrument handling, and support patient safety throughout the procedure.

The role includes pre-operative duties, intraoperative support, and post-operative cleanup, with day shifts and a 36-hour pay period plus call.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/Technical Diploma preferred.
• 1-2 years Surgical Tech experience preferred.
• BLS certification required; CST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub role for most surgical procedures and assist with instrument handling.
• Complete pre-operative duties including surgical scrub, donning OR attire and PPE.
• Set up sterile back table and Mayo stand; prepare instruments, supplies, equipment and meds.
• Assist with draping the patient and maintaining sterile field.
• Conduct intraoperative counts and labeling of medications; participate in Time Out verification.
• Support surgeon by handing over supplies, sponging or suctioning, and managing specimens.
• Maintain perioperative environments, asepsis, electrical safety, waste management and traffic patterns.
• Demonstrate proficiency with equipment and sterile technique across assigned areas.
• Clean and ready instruments for sterilization; clean OR after procedures.
• For Surgical Tech III, serve as preceptor, prepare OR, ensure instrument readiness and mentor staff.
