Job summary

Hudson Regional Hospital in Hoboken seeks a part-time Respiratory Therapist Registered for day shift. You will assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders, collaborating with physicians and nurses to implement individualized treatment plans.

Required are an RT credential (RRT), NJ license, NBRC certification, plus BLS and ACLS. An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred, with hospital or acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Current NJ Respiratory Therapist license.
• NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Clinical experience in respiratory care in hospital/acute care.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, administers, and evaluates patients receiving respiratory care as ordered.
• Delivers care to in-patient and ER populations.
• Evaluates respiratory status and develops treatment plans.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on patient care.
• Provides emergency, critical care, and general respiratory services.
• Examines patients with pulmonary diseases and conditions.
• Performs diagnostic tests to assess lung capacity.
• Works with physicians to create treatment plans.
• Administers inhalants and chest physiotherapy.
• Operates ventilators and related equipment.
• Educates patients and families on respiratory care.
• Responds to emergencies and provides critical care as needed.
• Maintains and calibrates respiratory care equipment.
• Documents patient responses and adjusts care plans.
