Job summary

Sabert, a leading food packaging manufacturer, seeks a shift Production Manager to oversee extrusion and thermoforming operations on the Fort Wayne, Indiana, shift. You will drive the production schedule, manage resources, and coordinate with maintenance and staff to meet safety and quality standards.

The role requires prior leadership in manufacturing, strong supervision, and hands-on knowledge of production processes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safety-related activities (Lock Out/Tag Out, incident investigations).
• Knowledge of quality-related activities (statistical process control).
• Results orientation with initiative and ownership for success.
• Strong supervision and team leadership skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of staff.
• Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret the production schedule.
• Basic knowledge of extrusion/thermoforming processes and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Production Schedule.
• Identifies and secures necessary resources (people, materials).
• Schedules and assigns work to staff, managing and adjusting priorities.
• Manage direct labor, materials and other related costs to budget.
• Monitors production process and progress toward goals; troubleshoot as needed.
• Ensures proper equipment function by coordinating with maintenance and other departments.
• Coordinates with shift leaders and staff for smooth transition between shifts.
• Participates in recruitment and staff selection as needed.
• Provides ongoing training and development for staff on the shift.
• Fosters a positive work environment through open communication and teamwork.
• Provides performance feedback and coaching; handles discipline as needed.
• Resolves work and interpersonal conflicts as needed.
• Establishes an environment that motivates staff to achieve results.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience.
