Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System in New York seeks a per diem Physician's Associate to provide diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care under direct supervision of a physician. The role covers a broad spectrum of medical services for routine cases in a structured setting with ample oversight.

The successful candidate will be NYS-approved PA program graduate, NYS PA registration and NCCPA certification, strong analytical skills, the ability to work independently, and strong teamwork with physicians

Qualifications

• Completion of a NYS-approved program for training physician assistants/associates.
• Registration with New York State as Physician Assistant/Associate.
• Certification with National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants/Associates (NCCPA).
• High levels of analytical ability to diagnose and treat under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health by interview and updating medical history; document care in records.
• Perform physical examinations and provide treatment and counseling under supervision.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; follow up on imaging and labs; interpret results.
• Perform injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care; manage postoperative care.
• Counsel patients on prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records; develop management plans and discharge summaries; ensure continuity of care.
• Ensure infection-control compliance; maintain safe work environment.
• Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care and treatment plans.
• Provide surgical case coordination and medical clearance oversight.
• Assist physicians during surgery or complex procedures.
• May prescribe medications.
• Perform other related duties.
