Baptist South is seeking a Mobility Technician to join our Nursing Support team in Jacksonville. This full-time role supports patient mobility, uses lifts and transfer equipment, and collaborates with nursing and rehabilitation staff to ensure safe patient handling.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and is based on-site with weekend rotation in a busy hospital setting. An associate degree is preferred and prior mobility experience is not required.

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• No prior mobility technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinical staff in the safe repositioning, ambulation, and transfer of patients.
• Utilize patient handling equipment such as lifts, slide sheets, and transfer boards.
• Respond to mobility requests from nursing and rehabilitation departments.
• Support fall prevention strategies and early mobility protocols.
• Document patient mobility activities in accordance with hospital policies.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
