Job summary

Jay Hospital in Jay, Florida is seeking a Patient Care Technician I for the Medical Unit/Days to support the nursing staff and deliver compassionate patient care under licensed supervision. This role emphasizes safety and building a therapeutic relationship essential to healing.

You will assist with ambulation, vital signs, hygiene, linen, meal support, and clerical tasks; maintain up-to-date records; and help maintain a clean, organized patient environment while contributing to department goals

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association Upon Hire Required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with ambulating and mobilization of patients, taking and recording vital signs (BP, Temperature, Pulse, Respirations, O2 sat), weighing patients, personal hygiene/AM Care, bedpan and toileting assistance, catheter care, drain management, turning bedridden patients, linen changes, meal preparation, feeding, I&O, light cleaning, and relaying information to the nurse.
• Sits with patients and Baker acted patients as needed, participates in patient care as defined by department scope, and maintains documentation of data collected.
• Assists with clerical duties to support the healthcare team and responds to calls, serving as receptionist for the department.
• Maintains supplies/inventory for the department and promotes effective working relations within the unit to meet goals.
