Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Patient Care Nurse Assistant for the Med/Surg & Observation unit at South Pointe Hospital in Warrensville Heights. The role supports RN-guided patient care on a 19-bed MS unit and a 22-bed Observation unit, with a day shift from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and alternating weekends/holidays.

The ideal candidate assists with basic care, reports changes to RNs, maintains clean patient rooms, and demonstrates strong math and reading skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS Certification (AHA or Red Cross) within new hire period; nursing students must obtain it before hire.
• Military experience (HM, 68W or 4N0X1) will be considered.
• Nursing students may substitute clinical rotation for required experience.
• Demonstrates proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an 8th grade level.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with basic patient care under RN supervision.
• Report abnormal findings to the RN.
• Keep patients' rooms clean and orderly.
• Assist with patient care including vital signs, weight, and activities of daily living as needed.
• Support safe, high-quality patient care on a mixed MS/Obs unit.
