Job summary

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant for the NICCU day shift (7am–7pm). You will deliver patient-centered care, support daily activities, monitor vitals, and promote comfort and dignity for patients with acute medical needs.

You will collaborate with nurses and providers, document accurately, assist with mobility and safety, and help families feel reassured in a calm, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year experience preferred; Assisted Living experience may be required for AL units.
• Completion of NAI program; listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I; Medication Safety - AME.
• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by anticipating needs, supporting daily activities, and promoting comfort and dignity for each patient.
• Serve as a trusted partner to nurses and providers, sharing observations and supporting care plans in a fast-paced environment.
• Guide safe mobility and recovery efforts, assisting with ambulation, repositioning, and fall-prevention practices.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of vitals and patient status to support clinical decisions.
• Foster a calm, supportive environment for patients and families, offering reassurance and setting expectations.
• Provide assistance with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, clean environment under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Assisted Living units only: report any change in status to the Charge Nurse.
