Job summary

Novant Health is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Nuero Surgical team at New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH NHRMC) in Wilmington, NC. The Day shift, full-time role runs 7am–7pm with shift differential, offering stability and patient-focused care.

You will support patients, collaborate with nurses, ensure safe mobility, and document vitals and status to aid clinical decisions. Tuition reimbursement is available to support career growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year experience preferred; experience in Assisted Living facilities may be required.
• Completion of NAI program required.
• Listed with the nurse aide registry as an NA I, required.
• Medication Safety - AME required.
• NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care using clinical experience to anticipate needs and support daily activities.
• Serve as a trusted partner to nurses and providers, sharing observations to support care plans.
• Guide safe mobility and recovery efforts, assist with ambulation, repositioning, and fall-prevention.
• Ensure accurate, timely documentation of vitals and patient status for clinical decisions.
• Foster a calm, supportive environment for patients and families; provide reassurance and set expectations.
• Assist with activities of daily living and maintain a safe, clean environment under a nurse's direction.
• For Assisted Living units: assist residents with daily living activities and report changes to the Charge Nurse.
