Job summary

Labcorp in Arlington, TX is seeking a Technologist to join our team, working Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. You will determine specimen acceptability, perform complex procedures, monitor instrumentation and ensure accurate test results to support patient care.

The role requires a science degree and laboratory experience; ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. You will contribute to a collaborative, detail-oriented lab environment with emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree.
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions per SOPs.
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper function.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE.
