Job summary

Newell Brands Lumberton, NC is seeking a Maintenance Helper for the 1st shift to support day-to-day plant maintenance and operations at the Lumberton site.

The role involves assisting with preventative maintenance, repairs, and collaboration with contractors to ensure safety and productivity while handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a full-time onsite position with opportunities to contribute to cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school education with diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license is required
• A 2-year technical degree is desirable
• Basic working principles of HVAC, carpentry, plumbing and electrical
• Capable of reading facility floor plans, blueprints and electrical schematics
• Team environment experience and ability to lead teams as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the facility and grounds by inspecting and making repairs to support safety and productivity initiatives
• Provide technical support on projects such as new machine and equipment installation
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment involving HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing and welding
• Guide outside contractors to ensure safety procedures are followed
• Work to changeover manufacturing lines and perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Contribute to productivity projects to reduce costs and generate savings
• Ensure a safe work environment and adhere to safety regulations
• Complete special projects as needed
