Job summary

Medcentris in Vicksburg, MS is seeking a licensed Practical Nurse to provide direct patient care under supervision of a MD/NP/PA. The role includes administering medications, wound care, ADL assistance, and documentation in the EMR.

The ideal candidate will have graduation from an accredited nursing program, current LPN license, CPR/BLS certification, and be vaccinated for TB and influenza. Travel may be required to clinic locations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure with the State Board of Practical Nurse Examiners, without restrictions.
• CPR/BLS certification required.
• TB and Flu vaccination

Responsibilities

• Observe and report patient condition to supervising MD/NP/PA.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per plan.
• Assist MD/NP/PA in performing procedures.
• Prepare equipment and maintain aseptic/sterile technique.
• Assist patients with ADLs, including wound care dressing changes.
• May assist with Home to Heal wound care visits.
• Implement nursing component of the plan of care.
• Teach and counsel patients and families per plan.
• Prepare progress notes and document in the EMR.
• Notify supervising clinician of problems in patient living environment.
• Attend case conferences and interdisciplinary meetings.
• Perform routine venipuncture if competency is documented.
• Wound care and dressing changes including advanced dressings.
• Follow orders within the LPN scope and facility standards.
• Complete paperwork daily and document in the EHR.
• Photo documentation of wounds.
• Travel to various clinic locations and home visits may be required.
• Nails trimmed and cleaned; acrylic nails prohibited.
• Adhere to dress code and identification requirements.

Education

Graduate of accredited nursing program

Current state licensure for Practical Nurse (LPN)
