Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
• One or more years' nursing experience within the facility's service area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and individualized nursing care to an assigned group of patients under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
• Assists in relevant health and psychiatric teaching for patient and family.
• Shares responsibility for planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care plans.
• Effectively communicates with the medical staff and follows orders, minimizing abbreviations.
• Prepares, administers, and records medications per policy with documentation of effects.
• Observes and reports to the RN in charge any issues affecting patient care.
• Consults and documents nursing care according to facility policy.
• Records patient symptoms, responses, and progress concisely and accurately.
• Safely performs vital signs, ECGs, phlebotomy/labs, and glucose monitoring.
• Provides coverage in emergency services as needed.
