Job summary

Gainesville Internal Medicine Practice is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our patient‑focused team on a full‑time day shift. There are no nights, on‑call, weekends, or holidays.

You will screen patients, collect samples, obtain vitals, manage records, coordinate referrals, and assist providers during exams. Florida licensure and 2+ years in hospital/clinic settings are preferred; eCW experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• A degree from an accredited school of practical nursing is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
• Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse following state regulations.
• No Travel Required
• eCW experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage efficient flow of patients including screening, preparation for exam, and obtaining vitals.
• Notify patients of test results and follow-up appointments and instruct patients and families about medications and treatment instructions.
• Manage patient records including chart entries and posting lab/tests and examination results.
• Schedule tests and treatments including arranging referrals to a specialist and obtaining pre-authorizations when directed by the provider.
• Assist provider with physical exams and in preparation for physicals.
• Contact pharmacy to order prescriptions and notify patients.
• Control inventory and monitoring of supplies.
• Record health history of patients and note abnormal conditions for physicians.
• Respond to and screen telephone calls for referrals to nurse or physician.
• Triag e patients to ensure productive departmental flow.
