Job summary

Powers Health, located in Munster, IN, seeks a Laboratory Support Services Assistant to perform general office and lab support under supervision. You will enter patient data electronically to assure workflow and transmission of laboratory data, answer phones, greet visitors and outpatients, and handle clerical duties across outreach, central processing, and billing areas.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or equivalent with courses in typing, business systems and office procedures.
• Experience: 3-6 months preferred; 1 year of business-related experience required.
• Familiarity with personal computers, keyboards, printers, copiers and fax machines desired.
• Basic medical terminology knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

• Enter patient data electronically to ensure workflow and data transmission to hospital areas.
• Answer phones, greet visitors and assist outpatients; process charge slips and related clerical duties.
• Support multiple workstations: outreach phlebotomy, courier, client services, central processing, call center, billing, registration, and more.
• Handle specimen delivery, test orders, LIS data entry, and incidental cleaning and supply duties.
