Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Lab Assistant to support patient testing in a fast-paced laboratory. This role offers hands-on experience, attention to detail, and a pathway for future hire, contributing to accurate specimen processing and testing readiness.

You'll work a Day/Evening EST schedule, Monday–Friday, with potential weekend hours; pay is $18.00 per hour. Eligible candidates should have a high school diploma and lab/medical assistant training is a plus, with a focus on

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (copy required).
  • Medical assistant training is helpful.
  • Math and science coursework preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, receive, and process incoming specimens.
  • Centrifuge specimens, print labels, and maintain specimen storage and retrieval processes.
  • Prepare specimens for testing, including aliquoting, slide preparation, inoculation, and worklist creation.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance and quality assurance/quality control activities as assigned.
  • Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples as needed.
  • Prepare reagents and media for laboratory testing procedures.
  • Record and maintain department data, including temperature logs and department files.
  • Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials according to safety guidelines.
  • Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests and assist with changing gas cylinders.
  • Utilize laboratory computer systems and PCs to support daily operations.
  • Follow all PPE requirements, safety regulations, and training protocols.

Location: Indianapolis, IN
Pay Rate: $18.00/hour
Employment Type: Contingent with potential pathway for hire
Schedule: Day/Evening Shift (EST), Monday - Friday, 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM, with potential Saturday and/or Sunday hours
