Job summary

UC Irvine invites a Physician Assistant to join the Division of Hospital Medicine & Palliative Medicine in the Department of Medicine. The PA will provide comprehensive patient care in ambulatory or inpatient settings, coordinating across disciplines and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols.

The role requires ARC-PA accredited PA program completion, CA licensure, NCCPA certification, DEA registration, and active BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a physician assistant training program accredited by the ARC-PA.
• Evidence of NCCPA board certification.
• Current California PA licensure and DEA registration.
• Ability to obtain UCIMC Allied Health Privileges prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in comprehensive care of patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings.
• Provide multi-disciplinary care coordination, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.
• Perform scope of practice within approved privileges and state regulations.
• Credentialing and privilege approval must be completed prior to first working day.
• Respond to program needs and collaborate with Health System teams.
• Maintain privacy and security policies for Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Communicate medical information clearly to patients and staff.
• Prepare medical reports, lab data and progress notes.
