Job summary

The University of California, Irvine invites applications for a Physician Assistant in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine & Palliative Medicine. The PA will participate in comprehensive care of adult patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings under supervision.

Requirements include ARC-PA accredited PA program completion, NCCPA certification, California licensure, BLS and ACLS, and ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

• Clear understanding of internal medicine principles.
• Ability to take thorough medical histories and perform exams.
• Familiarity with Hospital Medicine protocols and patient safety standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, and referring physicians.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; NCCPA certification; California licensure.

Responsibilities

• Participate in comprehensive care of adult patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings.
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary care and communicate with patients and referring physicians.
• Maintain patient records, write reports, and contribute to treatment plans.
• Function within scope of practice under supervision of Hospital Medicine faculty.
