Munson Healthcare in northern Michigan is hiring Security Officers to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff across its facilities. You will provide a security presence, monitor systems, and respond to emergencies while delivering high-quality customer service.

The role requires standing for long shifts, de-escalation skills, and the ability to assist with restrained individuals when trained. Valid Michigan license and CPR/AED certification are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED OR 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Valid Michigan driver's license is required.
• CPR and AED Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
• Experience in security or public safety roles requiring strong interpersonal and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a security presence to maintain order and deter harmful activity.
• Assist patients, families, employees, and visitors with effective customer service.
• Monitor visitor traffic and patrol designated areas, report incidents clearly.
• Operate security systems and respond to codes and emergencies.
• Follow de-escalation strategies and apply restraints only with training as a last resort.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and respect at all times.
