Job summary

Michael Foods Inc. in Gaylord, MN is seeking a Stand Up Forklift Operator to safely transport materials within a fast-paced warehouse. This full-time daytime role requires PIT training, sharp math skills, and adherence to GMPs and food-safety standards.

You will inspect and operate forklifts, ship/receive goods, document paperwork, and support a team-focused environment while maintaining accurate storage and order fulfillment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Successful completion of a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) training program and ability to pass forklift certification
• Ability to effectively read, write, and speak English
• Strong math and configuration skills
• Ability to assess situations and make sound decisions that prioritize safety and support company operations

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in daily pre-shift meetings and team stretching.
• Operate forklift in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
• Complete daily forklift inspections; report and remove from service if defects are found.
• Accurately ship and receive products, performing Quality Reassurance Checks (QRC).
• Identify and address safety issues or infractions on the warehouse floor.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation and paperwork.
• Accurately fulfill customer orders, including special instructions.
• Collaborate with office staff to resolve discrepancies and issues efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse: report damages and ensure proper pallet storage.
• Promote a team-oriented work environment through positive communication.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and uphold food safety and quality standards.
• Report any practices or conditions that may affect food safety, product quality, or employee safety.
• Adhere strictly to all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
