Job summary

Shaw Industries in Ringgold, GA, seeks a Lift Truck Operator for 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 8:00 am–4:00 pm) at Plant RP. Responsibilities include moving materials, recording IPT locations, daily truck checks, and recyclables handling. Must pass color vision/vision tests and lift truck training. OSHA and plant safety rules apply.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting for long periods, and 12-hour sit-down capability. Temperature changes and manual dexterity are part of the job environment.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, and math required.
• Must pass color blindness and vision tests.
• Familiar with current computer systems and software.
• Ability to operate a lift truck after training.
• Must be able to mount/dismount lift truck up to 100 times daily.
• Able to withstand changes in temperature and humidity.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and sit for 12 hours.
• Must complete yearly LTO recertification program.
• Must comply with OSHA, SAFE, and plant safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Move materials from lines or storage to WIP areas or other locations.
• Record storage locations next to product numbers in IPT.
• Complete lift truck check sheets daily.
• Dispose of shipping materials (pallets, cardboard, etc.).
• Pack finished goods and WIP as needed.
• Operate floor sweeper when required.
• Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
• Change lift truck or other PIT batteries as needed.
• Keep the facility clean and organized.
• Perform duties of other LTOs when necessary.
• Maintain neat and orderly work space.
• Operate baler for recycling of materials.
• Complete other duties as assigned with safety in mind.
• Maintain recycling containers and dumpsters.
• Handle trash dumpsters and cans.
