Job summary

Shaw Industries Group, Inc. in Ringgold, GA is seeking a Lift Truck Operator for the 1st shift. This role moves materials from manufacturing lines to WIP areas and records locations in the IPT system. Daily lift truck checks, packaging duties, and recycling responsibilities are part of the job.

You will maintain a clean, safe work environment, assist with inventory counts, and operate pallets, straps, and related equipment while following OSHA and plant safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and do basic math.
• Must pass color vision and general vision test.
• Familiar with current computer systems and software.
• Must be able to operate a lift truck after training.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and sit for 12 hours.
• Must comply with OSHA, SAFETY and plant rules.

Responsibilities

• Move materials from manufacturing lines or storage locations to WIP areas.
• Record storage locations in the IPT next to appropriate product numbers.
• Complete lift truck check sheets daily.
• Remove, collect and properly dispose of shipping materials including pallets, straps, cardboard and bolsters.
• Strap and package finished goods and work in process (WIP) as needed.
• Operate floor sweeper when needed.
• Assist with inventory cycle counts as needed.
• Change lift truck batteries and other PIT batteries as needed.
• Maintain a neat, orderly work space and clean facility areas.
• Operate baler in recycling of raw materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain all recycling containers and dumpsters.
