Job summary

California Sierra Express is hiring two forklift operators for its Compton, CA operation (LAX area). The role requires unloading/loading 53' dry van trailers and assisting drivers, with a 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM schedule and Saturday rotations.

Salary ranges from $20.00 to $23.00 hourly DOE; benefits include vacation, health/dental/vision, 401K, and paid training. Candidates must have at least 1 year forklift experience and English communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License, preferred.
• Minimum of one (1) year of forklift experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing.
• Ability to demonstrate basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and some division.

Responsibilities

• Consistent attendance Mon - Fri is mandatory. Also availability is required for two Saturdays per month.
• Operate a forklift safely when loading shipments in and out of trailers or staging and stacking in the warehouse.
• Comply with truck and cargo security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
• Comply with safe work practices as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).
• Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations.
