Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Hospital housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Must follow safety and infection prevention practices.

Responsibilities

• Follow departmental policies for safe handling and use of cleaning/disinfecting chemicals.
• Stock and maintain EVS supply cart/closet at the beginning and end of each shift.
• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, offices, restrooms, corridors, and other areas per schedule.
• Perform discharge/terminal cleaning and enhanced cleaning for isolation rooms as assigned.
• Collect, remove, and dispose of trash, linen, and medical waste per hospital policy.
• Replenish disposable items (soap, towels, toilet paper, gloves, sanitizer) as assigned.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and furniture (beds, stretchers, wheelchairs, tables) per EVS procedures.
• Respond to service calls including spills and room turnovers; place wet-floor signage and follow safety protocols.
• Dust and spot-clean high/low surfaces and touchpoints to reduce infection risk.
• Use PPE and follow standard/transmission-based precautions.
• Use tracking system to receive, document, and close tasks; communicate status updates.
• Provide positive customer service while protecting patient privacy.
