Job summary

Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant - Emergency (Day) for our Vancouver, WA location. This full-time role supports high-acuity emergency care on a rotating schedule, including holidays and on-call shifts.

You will work with a fast-paced team to assist veterinarians and licensed technicians, manage patient histories, perform lab work, and help with imaging and treatments while maintaining excellent client communication

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in veterinary medicine; ER preferred.
• Must obtain Veterinary Medication Clerks License upon hire and keep active.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of patient handling and restraint.
• Excellent communication and strong work ethic.
• Flexible and able to adapt; team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed technicians and veterinarians with patient care in emergency department.
• Assist with radiographic procedures and lab work.
• Obtain accurate patient histories and maintain records.
• Communicate with clients and support patient discharge.
• Restrain patients for procedures and initiate fluid therapy.
• Perform other assigned duties and adhere to safety standards.
