Job summary

Ochsner Health in Lafayette, LA is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant to assist nursing staff in delivering safe, quality patient care. Under the supervision of a licensed nurse, you will observe patients, report changes, and support basic care activities in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Required CNA certification with BLS; CPI training within 30 days; willing to obtain CPI. Strong communication, organization, and adaptability are essential, as is flexibility to work a 24/7

Qualifications

• CNA certification required
• BLS certification due within 30 days of hire
• CPI training due within 30 days of hire
• Preferred hospital and telemetry experience

Responsibilities

• Supports the plan of care as delegated by staff nurse within scope of skills verification
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the patient care area
• Provides care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas
• Communicates patient care needs effectively with patients, families, and other staff members, including multi-disciplinary teams
• Completes documentation of patient related tasks
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style
• Performs other related duties as assigned
