Job summary

Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho, is hiring a day shift, full-time Medical/Surgical Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The role supports patient care under RN supervision in a Level II trauma center environment, with opportunities for growth, tuition assistance, and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or GED, Idaho CNA certification, and BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

Current Idaho CNA certification is required.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
1 year of acute or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Work with the registered nurse to support safe patient care.
Carry out delegated tasks for patients under RN supervision.
Document data and report observations to the RN.
Ensure safety precautions: call light, bed alarms, rails, bed position, and seat belts.
Obtain and record patients' vital signs.
Monitor patients and report changes promptly.
Document observations and interventions in the medical record.
Respond promptly to all call lights.
Assist patients with mobility and activities of daily living (ADLs).
Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties as needed.
Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports as directed.
Fulfill direct and indirect patient care duties and may provide clerical support.
