Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS is hiring a day shift, full-time Chemotherapy Patient Care Tech (PCT). You will work closely with licensed nurses to deliver safe, compassionate care and support adult patients across units.

Responsibilities include taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, collecting lab specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation. A CNA/PCT certification or active enrollment is required, with BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of approved CNA/PCT certification program or enrolled as a student.
• Active certification in the State of Kansas; BLS within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• 3+ years of experience in acute or long-term care settings preferred.
• Experience in Med-Surg Nursing or ER preferred.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Care Technician collaborates with licensed nurses to support safe and compassionate patient care.
• Under supervision of a licensed nurse, performs delegated tasks and advanced skills for age-specific patients.
• Record data per policy, report observations and concerns, and assist with clinical and non-clinical duties.
• Obtain vital signs and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and feeding; collect lab specimens.
• Support patient monitoring and complete unit-based competencies as assigned.
