Job summary

St. Mary’s Hospital - Kankakee in Kankakee, IL, is seeking a Certified Operating Room Tech to support the Surgical Services team. You will prepare sterile supplies, maintain the sterile field, and assist the surgeon by providing instruments during procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, completion of an ORT program or equivalent, current CST certification, and BLS. Experience scrubbing a range of procedures (general, GYN, ortho, neuro) is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required for new hires.
• Graduate of an ORT program or on-the-job training with experience.
• Current CST certification must be maintained.
• Experience scrubbing major and minor procedures in general surgical settings.
• Experience scrubbing in specialty areas (ortho, neuro, ENT, uro, etc.).
• BLS certification upon hire and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each procedure.
• Maintain sterile field during cases and assist surgeon with instruments.
