Job summary

Washington University seeks a Response Officer I to support on-campus safety at the St. Louis campus. This entry-level role participates in emergency response, incident reporting, and building checks while coordinating with Medical Center staff and campus partners.

Requires a high school diploma and readiness to obtain security licenses within 30 days. A MO Class E or IL Class D license is also required, with benefits including security training and campus support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to obtain security license within 30 days of hire.
• Must obtain and maintain state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
• Certification for Taser, OC Spray, collapsible baton and handcuffs.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents on campus as a team member.
• Take notes for follow—up and assist with incident reports.
• Conduct building checks, verify access control devices and locks.
• Provide directions, escorts and coordinate with Medical Center staff as needed.
• Enforce parking regulations and support Transportation Office.
