Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Performs basic laboratory point-of-care testing for arterial blood gas, coagulation, glucose, electrolytes, and hemoglobin.
• Sets up supplies and assists in placement of arterial lines, central lines, epidural catheters, and spinal anesthetics.
• Documents damaged equipment and reports equipment problems.
• Obtains blood and blood products and transports lab specimens per policy.
• Acquires anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures and workroom.
• Maintains and provides preventative maintenance on anesthesia equipment.
• Follows protocols for set up, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment.
• Distributes used/dirty equipment for decontamination and sterilization.
• Transports equipment and supply carts to off-site locations.
