Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking an Anesthesia Technician for the day shift. This role provides general assistance to anesthesia providers before, during, and after surgery, including equipment setup, maintenance, and supply stocking across clinical sites.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, basic life support certification, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following safety and documentation protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience in relevant role.
• Ability to triage tasks in high-stress situations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile techniques.
• Understanding patient rights and HIPAA requirements.
• AHA Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic laboratory point-of-care testing for ABG, coagulation, glucose, electrolytes and hemoglobin.
• Sets up supplies and assists in arterial lines, central lines, epidural catheters, and spinal anesthetics.
• Documents damaged equipment and reports problems to the appropriate authority.
• Obtains blood and blood products and transfers lab specimens according to policy.
• Acquires anesthesia equipment and supplies for procedures and workroom.
• Maintains and provides preventive maintenance on anesthesia equipment.
• Follows protocols for setup, maintenance, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment.
• Distributes used/dirty equipment to decontamination and sterilization areas.
• Transports equipment and carts to off-site anesthetizing locations.
