Job summary

ARCO is seeking a Day Services Director to lead programs that help individuals with developmental disabilities connect, contribute, work, grow, and thrive in their communities.

You will provide leadership for Supported/Customized Employment, Community Ventures, and transportation services, while building partnerships with businesses, families, and community organizations to expand opportunities and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education, Social Services, or related field.
• Director-level managerial experience required.
• One year of field experience preferred.
• Valid Louisiana driver's license and dependable transportation.

• Lead and develop person-centered, community-based Day Services programs.
• Promote meaningful employment, community integration, independence, and personal growth.
• Build relationships with employers, community organizations, families and partners.
• Assess participant needs and develop programs supporting individual goals.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Day Services staff and managers.
• Evaluate programs and implement improvements to strengthen outcomes.
• Ensure services meet governmental requirements and agency policies.
• Manage departmental transportation needs and assist with funding.

WHAT YOU'LL LEAD

As the Day Services Director , you will provide leadership and oversight for ARCO's Supported/Customized Employment and Community Ventures programs, along with the transportation services that support these programs.

Supported & Customized Employment

Help individuals discover their strengths, interests, and employment goals while building relationships with local businesses and creating meaningful opportunities for individuals to succeed in the workplace.

Community Ventures

Connect individuals with community members, organizations, businesses, and activities that align with their interests and goals—creating opportunities for friendship, volunteering, learning, participation, and contribution.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead and develop person-centered, community-based Day Services programs.
• Promote meaningful employment, community integration, independence, and personal growth.
• Build strong relationships with employers, businesses, community organizations, families, and other partners.
• Assess participant needs and develop programs that support individual goals and interests.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Day Services staff and provide direction to program/team managers.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements that strengthen outcomes.
• Ensure services meet applicable governmental requirements, agency standards, policies, and procedures.
• Manage departmental transportation needs.
• Assist with program funding and resource development.
• Collaborate with ARCO's Executive Director, Human Resources Director, management team, staff, participants, families, and community partners.
• Support ARCO's overall mission and participate in agency-wide initiatives and activities.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education, Social Services, or a related field.
• Director-level managerial experience.
• One year of experience in the field preferred.
• Valid Louisiana driver's license.
• Dependable transportation available for use on the job.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
• Ability to develop relationships with businesses, community organizations, and other partners.
• Understanding of budgets, expenses, and revenues.
• Ability to evaluate programs and develop services that respond to individuals and community needs.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and respond to agency needs, including working outside of regular hours when necessary.
